The Directorate of Immigration and Passports has introduced a simplified online process for citizens seeking to apply for or renew their passports through the e-Services Portal. The initiative aims to reduce long queues at passport offices and make the service more accessible to people across the country.
According to the Passport Department, citizens can submit a Pakistan passport online application by visiting the official website. Existing users may log in with their registered accounts, while new applicants must create a profile by entering accurate personal details, including a valid mobile number and email address. A verification code and email confirmation are required to complete the registration process.
Once registered, applicants can log in and begin their application. The system allows both new applications and renewals, though renewals are limited to passports with less than one year of validity remaining. Major changes such as modifying names or occupations cannot be processed online and still require an in-person visit.
The portal also enables applicants to select their nearest passport office from a drop-down menu, especially useful if an in-office appointment becomes necessary. Photo guidelines for men and women are provided, and uploaded images must be in PNG, JPG, or JPEG formats with a file size under 1 MB to ensure smooth processing.
Officials stated that the Pakistan passport online application system represents a significant step toward modernizing government services and providing greater convenience to citizens. The digital process is expected to speed up passport issuance, reduce the workload on physical offices, and minimize delays for applicants nationwide.
