The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) government has broadened its Immigration Facilitation Scheme for Visitors Participating in Short-term Activities in Designated Sectors (STV Scheme), introducing five new sectors and nearly 100 additional authorised organisations. The move aims to streamline access for international professionals invited to participate in short-duration work engagements. Dubai: Oman has introduced a significant reform to its residency regulations, extending the validity period of expatriate residency cards from three years to ten years. The decision marks one of the most substantial changes in the country’s civil status and immigration policies in recent years. LAHORE: The Punjab government has approved the establishment of Special Courts for Overseas Pakistani Property under the Punjab Special Courts (Overseas Pakistani Property) Act 2025, in consultation with the Lahore High Court chief justice. The move aims to address the longstanding concerns of overseas Pakistanis regarding illegal property occupation and delayed justice in land-related cases. The Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department has launched a new digital facility enabling overseas Pakistanis to register and transfer vehicles online through the PakID mobile application. The initiative eliminates the need for embassy visits or submission of power of attorney documents, marking a significant step toward digitizing public services for expatriates.
