ISLAMABAD: Chairman Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Syed Qamar Raza is set to visit Portugal to participate in the 2025 Hope of Overseas Pakistanis Convention scheduled for December 13 in Lisbon. The event comes at a significant moment following the recent approval of dual citizenship between Pakistan and Portugal.
According to organizers, the Overseas Pakistanis Convention will take place at the Community Hall of Masjid Markazi in Lisbon, where overseas community members, dignitaries, and notable personalities are expected to gather. The convention aims to highlight Pakistan–Portugal ties and address issues concerning the Pakistani diaspora.
Chairman OPF Syed Qamar Raza will deliver a keynote address at the convention, focusing on the challenges and opportunities for overseas Pakistanis, as well as initiatives being taken by the government to support expatriate communities. His participation is being viewed as an important engagement with Pakistani nationals residing in Portugal.
The event will also be attended by Dr. Sajid Tarar, Patron-in-Chief of Hope of Overseas Pakistanis, and Mehran Zaib Tarar, Chairman of Hope of Overseas Pakistanis. Organizers have stated that several prominent guests and community leaders will join the gathering to discuss community welfare and future collaboration.
The convention, scheduled for 5 pm on December 13, is expected to bring together a large number of Pakistani expatriates living in Portugal. The organizing committee, led by President Asmab Arshad Tarar and the Hope of Overseas Pakistanis team, has expressed confidence that the event will further strengthen community engagement and support networks for overseas Pakistanis.
