The Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab marked Christmas with a simple and dignified ceremony held at its office in Lahore. Vice Chairman Barrister Amjad Malik and Commissioner OPC Punjab Ms. Saman Rai participated in the event along with officers and staff, where a Christmas cake was cut to commemorate the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Amjad Malik extended Christmas greetings to the Christian community and stated that all religions are accorded equal respect in Pakistan. He said that interfaith harmony plays a vital role in national unity and progress.
He emphasized that mutual respect and coexistence among different faiths are essential for building a peaceful and inclusive society. He noted that religious diversity should be viewed as a strength that contributes to social stability and collective development.
Barrister Amjad Malik further stated that OPC Punjab remains committed to the protection of minority rights and continues to stand with minority communities on their religious and cultural occasions. He added that such engagements reflect the values of inclusivity and brotherhood.
The ceremony concluded in a cordial atmosphere, with participants reiterating their commitment to promoting peace, tolerance, and harmony across society.
