Islamabad witnessed a meeting between Umar Shahzad, President of the Mirpur AJK Chamber of Commerce, and Ch. Sohaib Saeed, former President of the AJK Chamber of Commerce, with Syed Qamar Raza, Chairman of the Board of Governors, Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, at the OPF Head Office.
The meeting focused on issues related to the welfare of overseas Pakistanis and explored investment opportunities for expatriates. Participants exchanged views on creating a more supportive environment to address the concerns of overseas Pakistanis and to facilitate their engagement with economic activities in Pakistan.
Syed Qamar Raza highlighted the need for improved facilitation mechanisms for overseas Pakistanis, stressing that their active participation in economic development initiatives could contribute significantly to national growth. He underscored the role of institutions in building confidence among expatriates.
During the discussion, the OPF chairman also sought support and cooperation from the chamber representatives for the forthcoming AJK Overseas Pakistanis Convention, which is tentatively planned to be held in February 2026.
