A major Overseas Pakistanis convention was organized in Portugal by Hope of Overseas Pakistanis, drawing a large turnout from the Pakistani community across Portugal and other European countries. The event featured prominent guests, including the Chairman of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), Syed Qamar Raza Shah, and the Pakistani Ambassador to Portugal, Ayesha Farooqi. Key organizers included OPWC Chairman Naeem Naqshbandi, Zahid Mughal, and Advisor to the Chairman of Hope of Overseas Pakistanis, Chaudhry Mehdi Ranjha.
Senior Vice President Chaudhry Imtiaz Ahmed, Chief Organizer of Hope of Overseas Pakistanis Europe Chaudhry Iftikhar Tarar, and representatives from Italy and Spain, including Dr. Waqas Nadeem, CEO Chaudhry Muhammad Abu Turab, and Chief Coordinator Malik Abid, also participated in the convention. Other notable attendees included Chaudhry Amir Warraich, President of Awami Party, and Babar Ali Chaudhry from Spain. The program was organized by Chairman Hope of Overseas Pakistanis Mehran Tarar, President Hope of Overseas Pakistanis Portugal Chaudhry Ismaab Arshad Tarar, along with Babar Sohail Khan, Mukhtar Ahmed Tarar, Yasir Yaqub, Afzal Ahmed, Ajmal Hussain Tarar, Faisal Yaqub, and Malik Imran.
During his address, OPF Chairman Syed Qamar Raza Shah highlighted the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis, their possible solutions, and the facilities being provided by the Government of Pakistan. He emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of overseas citizens and outlined the various initiatives taken by the OPF in this regard.
Pakistani Ambassador Ayesha Farooqi praised the role of overseas Pakistanis, describing them as a strong bridge between Pakistan and Portugal. She acknowledged their contributions in promoting bilateral relations and supporting community welfare in foreign countries.
Representatives of Hope of Overseas Pakistanis Portugal briefed attendees on the organization’s performance and future plans. The convention concluded on a positive note, with participants appreciating the initiative and its potential to strengthen community ties and engagement abroad.
