A delegation led by Dr. Wajid, Vice President of the UK-based Doctors Forum, met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi at Governor House Peshawar. The delegation included Provincial Vice President of Ulema Mashaykh Wing Maulana Usman Ali Shah, Tariq Khan, and Owais Khan. The meeting focused on the role of overseas Pakistanis, ongoing reforms in the province, and potential cooperation in the health sector.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi noted that overseas Pakistanis, particularly the professional community, are a valuable national asset. He said they not only elevate Pakistan’s image globally through their expertise but also contribute significantly to national development through investment, skills, and social services.
Dr. Wajid offered support from the Doctors Forum UK in strengthening the health infrastructure of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He highlighted opportunities for collaboration in medical training, research, and overall capacity building. He added that overseas Pakistanis are eager to play an active role in health, education, and human development initiatives.
Governor Kundi appreciated the proposals put forward by the delegation and expressed the Governor Office’s commitment to building strong connections with the overseas community. He emphasized that joint initiatives can help accelerate development goals across the province.
He further said platforms like the Doctors Forum could provide mentorship, exchange programs, and technical assistance for young doctors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, enabling them to benefit from global expertise.
