A high-level delegation from the Bursa Aerospace and Defense Cluster Association (BASDEC) and the Defence Industry Agency of the Republic of Türkiye is in Pakistan from December 09–12, 2025 to explore opportunities for joint projects, technology partnerships, and industrial collaboration with Pakistani defense entities. The 16-member delegation, led by Dr. Mustafa Hatipoğlu (Chairman, BASDEC) and Engr. Ahmet Khan (Chairman, Defence Systems), along with General Managers from leading Turkish aerospace and defense manufacturing companies, visited the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Head Office in Islamabad on December 10, 2025, which is the apex body for regulating engineering education and professional practice in Pakistan.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the PEC management. The delegation members presented a comprehensive overview of the advanced capabilities of the member companies in aerospace, avionics, and defense manufacturing, many of which contribute to Türkiye’s globally recognized indigenous defense programs, which can be of interest for relevant Pakistani industries.
The Chairman PEC, Engr. Waseem Nazir, appreciated the collaborative activities with Pakistani organizations to further strengthen ties between the two countries, especially in the defence and aerospace sectors. Moreover, he showed keen interest regarding future collaborations with BASDEC as well as the entities individually for the capacity building of young engineers, knowledge and technology exchange between the two brotherly countries. The discussion reached a positive note with a possibility of having a Memorandum of Understanding for future cooperation between PEC and BASDEC for an exchange program of young engineers to train them on the latest and state-of-the-art technologies being developed in Türkiye. BASDEC delegation appreciated the efforts of PEC for promoting the engineering profession in the country and its contribution globally.
