The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, in collaboration with the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, will hold the Overseas Kashmiris Convention 2026 in Muzaffarabad from February 15 to 17. The convention aims to engage overseas Kashmiris on key issues affecting them and to strengthen their connection with Azad Kashmir.
During the convention, group discussions and dialogue sessions will be organized to deliberate on challenges faced by overseas Kashmiris, investment opportunities in Azad Kashmir, and other important matters. The sessions are expected to provide a structured platform for meaningful interaction between stakeholders.
Overseas Kashmiris will be able to raise their legitimate grievances during the convention and present proposals for their resolution. The feedback and recommendations gathered are expected to contribute to policy-level improvements for the overseas community.
Approximately 300 overseas Kashmiris are expected to participate in the convention. Representatives from chambers of commerce across Pakistan, investors, and members of civil society will also attend the event, highlighting its national significance.
The convention is being termed an important step toward promoting overseas investment in Azad Kashmir. The inauguration of an Overseas Grievances Portal is expected during the event, while additional measures, including the establishment of a separate court through legislation to address overseas Kashmiris’ issues, are also anticipated.
