ISLAMABAD: Managing Director of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), Afzaal Bhatti, met with former Punjab Chief Minister and Member of the National Assembly Hamza Shahbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s Office and briefed him on the foundation’s initiatives, ongoing programmes and future plans for the welfare of overseas Pakistanis.
During the meeting, Afzaal Bhatti provided a detailed briefing on the measures being taken by the OPF to facilitate overseas Pakistanis and improve services related to their welfare and various other needs.
The meeting also reviewed the issues faced by Pakistanis living abroad and discussed measures to provide them with better facilities and support. Various ongoing OPF programmes and projects aimed at the welfare and facilitation of overseas Pakistanis were also discussed.
Speaking on the occasion, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has always regarded overseas Pakistanis as ambassadors of the country. He said the government remains committed to addressing their concerns and promoting their welfare.
Hamza Shahbaz said that the first forum for resolving the problems of overseas Pakistanis was established in Punjab, which played an important role in addressing the issues of a large number of overseas Pakistanis.
He directed the OPF team to extend maximum possible cooperation and support for the welfare of Pakistanis working and living abroad and to make every effort to resolve their issues.
Hamza Shahbaz also reviewed the performance of the OPF regarding facilities and welfare initiatives for overseas Pakistanis and issued necessary directions on various matters.
The meeting was also attended by Federal Minister for Public Affairs Unit Rana Mubashir Iqbal, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Talha Burki, Legal Adviser Syed Ali Raza Shah and Media Coordinator Imran Goraya.
